What is this presentation about?
To shed more light on the topic of toilets and sanitation, we’ll be presenting several projects from different organizations that offer alternative concepts. We hope these examples will encourage others to give this area the attention it deserves. Although the projects differ greatly, they all share one thing in common: they required thoughtful planning to bring these alternative ideas to life.
The featured projects include two toilet systems for school projects in Ghana using water-flush toilets with Biofil soak pits (We-Building e.V.); a project in Malawi involving the construction of 700 urine-diverting toilets for private households (DESWOS e.V.); a school-based urine-diverting toilet project in Sierra Leone (Ingenieure ohne Grenzen e.V.); urine-diverting toilets and urinals for primary schools in Ghana (Dream Big Ghana); and urine-diverting toilets for a secondary school in Ethiopia (Caritas Vorarlberg).
